Personal Memories of Mrs. Lottick
Frederick Shuck was born in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Lottick says "Frederick seems to have no relatives here, but he has a sister in Louisville, Kentucky and a brother in Illinois. They were all born in Pennsylvania. Their parents died and they were raised by different families. Afterward finding their way to Indiana".

In an 1883 Farm Atlas of Harrison county, Indiana, I saw a twenty-acre tract of land listed to "F. Shuck" located near the top of what is now known as Dolittle Hill at the top of the river hills in the eastern edge of Posey Township. this small farm is located very close to where Martha Williams was raised.The two graves of Federick and Nancy Shuck stand side by side right next to the location of the Old Union Church which burned years ago. The monuments are not very large, and sit on a stone or concrete base. They are about twelve inches wide and about sixteen inches tall with a rolled top. They are a deep gray color about like pewter or lead and are hollow, made of some sort of metal.

George wrote his last Will and Testament wherein he left his estate to his "beloved with Catharine", his "son-in-law John Ham," his "daughter Polly Shafer". his "daughter Sally Shafer", his "daughter Lana", his "daughter Nancy". his "daughter Susana", his "Grandson William Shuck" (who "will be 21 years on the 27th day of February 1867")...And Grandson George Frederick Shuck" ( who will be 21 years old on the 11th day of November 1868"), his "son-in law Richard Thompson" who he assigned guardian of his two grandsons, William & George Frederick Shuck, his daughter Elizabeth Ham", and his "daughter Catharine Thompson". He appointed his son-in-law. John Ham, executor of his estate.
