Charles and Barbara Murray came to America in 1856, landing in Philadelphia they made their way to Scott County, Iowa. They moved to Scott County because Charles brother George was living there, they rented land from Charles brother George, until his savings was sufficient to enable him to purchase a farm, and in time he became the owner of two farms in Hictory Grove Township.
