Betty Fern GROVER

Betty Fern had developed the Big German Measles and then she went into double Pneumonia. Dad refused to let mother take her to a hospital because he believed that his prayers would save her life. The Doctor stayed two days at the house with Betty and then she passed away.
I asked Mom one day when we were at the cemetery ... 'how could you just stand there and watch your baby die?'   She said that back then you never, ever, went against your husband for any reason.  Times sure have changed since then.
When Betty died our grandfather Grover bought six lots on a plot.  Mom hung onto those lots until someone very, very deserving was given one when she saw that we had grown and wouldn't need them.  However she always kept the one beside Betty.
One of the lots she had given our sister's mother-in-law was two away from Betty Fern. When we went to her funeral and grave-side services we looked down in horror at our sister's Headstone. They had buried this woman in mother's lot next to Betty's.  I ended up having to call an attorney, threaten the City for what they had done, I had to produce a deed to the lots to prove that they were Mom's and etc.  A nightmare.  Mom ended up having to accept a lot on the last row in the very back of the cemetery...alone.  A mental torment for her.  She was dying at the time of Cancer and passed a year later knowing all these things had occurred.
