C. E. Terry SuccumbsC. E. Terry, 93, passed away Wednesday morning, November 3, at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services were held at the Hope Funeral Home in Gallatin Friday at 1:30 with Brother Melvin Stanton officiating. Burial was in the Old Scotland cemetery northeast of Gallatin.
Mr. Terry was born October 31, 1878, in Daviess County, the son of William S. and Nancy E. Terry. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving is two daughters, Lela Scott of Trenton and Rowena Cox of Fayetteville, Tennessee, one sister, Mrs. Ona Kepley, St. Joseph; two brothers, Roy Terry of Gilman City and Hugh Terry of California; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

GILMAN CITY, Mo. - Mrs. Minnie Terry, 85, died Sunday night at a nursing home in Bethany, Mo.
Survivors include her husband, Carra E. Terry of the home in Gilman City; two daughters, Mrs. Lela Scott, Jamesport, Mo., and Mrs. Walter Cox, Fayetteville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Daniels, Mrs. Colman Weekley and Miss Pearl Netherton, all of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hope chapel in Gallatin, Mo. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery, northeast of Gallatin.

Mr., Mrs. C. E. Terry Observe 60th Wedding AnniversaryApproximately 175 persons attended "Open House" Sunday in honor of the 60th Wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Terry in Gilman City.
The house was decorated with baskets of garden flowers.
The table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a four tier cake decorated with white and pink sugar bells.
Mrs. Beulah Williams of St. Joseph, Mrs. Roy Terry, Mrs. Mark Terry, Mrs. Max Williams and Miss Martha Scott served at the refreshment table.
Mr. and Mrs. Terry's two daughters, Mrs. Walter Cox of Fayettesville, Tenn., and Mrs. Jim Scott, their grandchildren. Mrs. Bill Payne of Parnell., Buddy Martin and Martha Lou Scott and great grandchildren, Pamela, Paula and Steve Payne of Pariell were present.
Robert Terry, a Nephew of Los Angeles, Calif., called from Los Angeles to extend congratulations.

James Scott DiesJames Scott passed away Saturday, July 23, at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Gilman City. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery in Jamesport.
James Floyd Scott, son of Ira and Irena Scott was born in Daviess County, MO, November 6, 1899 and departed this life July 23, 1960 at the age of 60 years, 7, months and 17 days.
He was united in marriage to Lela Terry, August 20, 1922. To this union three children were born; Dorothea Payne, Gilman City, Mo., Buddy Martin and Martha Lou of the home.
When a young man, under the preaching of Brother Jim Scott at Scotland, Jim accepted Christ as his Savior.
Besides his wife and children, be leaves to mourn his passing three grandchildren which were his pride and joy, Stephen, Paula and Pamela Payne; his aged father Ira M. Scott, Gallatin, Mo; two brothers Dave, Jamesport, and John L. Scott, Kansas City North, five sisters; Mrs. Lewis Landis, and Mrs. Roy Stretch, Jameson; Mrs. Sam Truitt and Mrs. D. J. Perry, Kansas City North; Mrs. Ray Richards, Gallatin; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Jim's friends were numbered by his acquaintances and during his long years of illness one of his greatest enjoyments was when relatives and friends visited him.

A very quiet wedding took place Sunday afternoon at Jamesport when Rev. A. R. Kepple of that place performed the ceremony which united in marriage Mr. Jim Scott and Miss Lea Terry. These young people are both among our very best in this community. The bride is the daughter of Corra Terry and the groom the son of Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Scott, both families residing near Madelaine. We understand they will make their home at the Corra Terry farm near Madelaine, as Mr. and Mrs. Terry will move to Gilman City in the near future. Both these young people are very highly esteemed by their many friends of this community who will all join in extending hearty congratulations.
Walter Cox, 56, Dies in Tennessee
Walter Cox, 56, of Fayetteville, Tenn., a former resident of Gilman City, died Wednesday night at his home there following a stroke.
Funeral services were conducted yesterday.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rowena Terry, formerly of Gilman City, and a graduate of the Gilman City High School.
C. E. Terry, Mrs. Lela Scott, and Miss Martha Lou Scott, went to St. Joseph Saturday and a nephew, Max Williams flew them to Fayetteville. They are to return to St. Joseph today.
Max Williams is a cousin of Mrs. Cox.

Kepley Services
Graveside services for Ona M. Kepley, 90, will be Saturday at 1 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Dale Maudlin will officiate.
The family will receive visitors at Meierhoffer-Fleeman chapel Friday evening from 7 to 9.
Born in the Gilman City area, Mrs. Kepley taught school there for 13 years. She worked for the Veterans Administration during World War II.
She had been a St. Joseph resident for several years. She was the widow of Glenn B. Kepley.
Surviving are one son, Terry B. Kepley, St. Joseph; one daughter, Moretha Mathews, San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Roy Terry, Gilman City; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kepley died Thursday at a San Jose hospital. She had been spending the winters in California for the past two years.
