Notes

Margaret Monsees RIPPERE

Margaret had no children.

Olive Mathilda BURKE

Last known Zipcode was 07760. Social Security Number was 109-36-0945.

Ralph Pratt RIPPERE

The date shown come from the 'Family Record of William (sic) RIPPER, Brooklyn 1927.  George Hotchkiss Rippere advises that this was really 17 May 1882.

Agnes Caroline RIPPERE

Agnes had no children.

William REPPER

In a lease dated 1753 his son, William, is recorded as being "the younger". This could indicate that this William, the husband of Anne Nicholls, is still alive. Esther Osborne was unable to link this William to his father from the records in the Cornwall Record Office but she reasons, as do I, that there being no other likely parents of similar name and date, the link is fairly certain.

For a consideration of £22 a lease was granted to William RIPPER of Marazion on Gweal Scawen a stitch of land in the manor of Trevarthan on the lives of William (18) and George (13) his sons. Term to begin after expiry of the life of his wife Ann. This lease is dated 25 Jul 1743 as is a further lease in consideration of £38 for which William has the use of two fields in the manor of Trevarthian on the same terms and lives as the previous lease.

Anne NICHOLLS

On the 1753 lease the property being let was previously let to Pascoe Nicholls now deceased. The three lives had been Pascoe, this Anne and Anne's daughter Anne. Aged 64 on the lease.

George RIPPER

A lease exists mentioning George. The lease was between George Ripper and Sir Humphrey Mackworth and mentions George as being one of three lives at age 35. The other two lives are the daughters of Richard Travell, Mary (12) and Richard Veale,
Ann (26).

William RIPPER

In an attempt to determine who William's father may have been (assuming that his father's surname was Ripper or Repper), the following fathers are possible:

Robert Ripper (bap 4 Mar 1610, Breage) married Jane Pascaw on 17 Jun 1633 - unlikely.
- Pro ... No further evidence of a family for Robert and Jane has been traced
- Con ... Naming pattern does not fit, Robert's father was Benedict (Benjamin) and grandfather was Henry; there are no Williams in the family

Henry Ripper (bap 20 Mar 1616) married Temperance Harrie 17 Nov 1649 - probable
- Pro ... Henry's marriage is in the correct timespan
- Pro ... Henry had a child, his first child, which was baptised in Breage in 1650 but no name for the child was recorded
- Con ... Naming pattern does not fit, Henry's father was Benedict (Benjamin) and grandfather was Henry; there are no Williams in the family

William Ripper (bap 6 Jul 1615) - unlikely
- Pro ... No further evidence of a family for William has been traced
- Pro ... Naming pattern of baptising his own son William fits
- Con ... No marriage for William has been recorded
- Con ... Naming pattern for the rest of the family does not fit, William's father was Robert and grandfather was Henry

Thomas Ripper (bap 15 Mar 1618) - unlikely
- Pro ... No further evidence of a family for Thomas has been traced
- Pro ... Naming pattern of baptising his own son after his brother William is a poor fit but better than no fit at all
- Con ... No marriage for Thomas has been recorded
- Con ... Naming pattern for the rest of the family does not fit, Thomas' father was Robert and grandfather was Henry

William Ripper (bap 3 Jul 1615) married Christian Francis 24 Nov 1642 - unlikely
- Pro ... Naming pattern of baptising his own son William fits
- Con ... He married in 1642 and his marriage and children, including a son, William who marries and lives at Crawle are well documented

Edward Ripper (bap 25 Mar 1625) married Blanch in Breage - unlikely
- Con ... Edward's family is well documented in wills and there is no mention of a William

Elizabeth CLISE

In "The Mount People" by Jane Mason, there is a transcription of the 1683 Bishops Transcripts (Burials) and there is a burial of Elizabeth Clyes, widow dated 2/4/1683. This could be her mother? Also shown is the burial of Roger Clyes 8/6/1683.
