John Repper Trevarthen embarked in London on the ship "Countess Russell" on the 1 March
1873 and arrived in Australia at Rockhampton on the 30 June 1873, along with his wife Jane (nee Bennets), son Mark aged 1 (one) and Mary Anne Countess born on the voyage. Jane Bennets died at Clermont Qld. three weeks after her arrival of Typhoid Fever.Also aboard the Countess Russell were John's brothers Edward and Richard. (All were indentured immigrants brought out to work the Tin Mines at Clermont).
Also travelling with John Repper was a large family group, names (ages) and relationships are as follows:

* Trevarthen, Jane (25) - Richard's wife
* Trevarthen, Edward Ripper (24) - his brother
* Trevarthen, Eliza (50) - their mother (Also known as Catherine)
* Trevarthen, Eliza (15) - their sister
* Bennets, Mark (21) - Jane's brother
* Harris, Mary (27) - Jane's sister
* Harris, Joseph (35) - Mary's husband
* Harris, Joseph (4) - Mary & Joseph's son
* Harris, Christopher (?) - Mary & Joseph's sonAfter a few years John Repper broke his bond and left his children in Clermont. He went to Brisbane where he changed his name to John Henry Williams in order to avoid the police. He married Maria Jane Whear at Brisbane on the 25 April 1880, under the name of Williams . Their first child, Bessie, being born on the 9th December 1880 under the name of Williams. Their second, John Henry, and third, Maria Jane, children were also registered under the name of Williams. John died on the 8th August 1908 at Charters Towers of Miners Phthisis(tuberculosis).

Maria arrived in Brisbane on the 6th Febuary 1880 aboard the "Earl Dalhousie" at the age of 19. She was a free passenger, meaning that her fare was paid by the Queensland Government on the condition that she remained in the Colony of Queensland.
