After the death of her step mother, Emeline Tipton, Telitha hired a lawyer, D. H. Hart and wrote a lettle to Washington D.C. Feb. 18, 1888, opposing Emeline nephew (by marriage) William Hunter, whom Emeline made executor and sole inheriter of her estate. telitha claimed in the re-embursement that William Hunter was seeking from the pension Emeline had been granted the replacement costs he had incurred during her illness and her buriel the estate left to him from Emeline was in excess of the monies from the entitled pension, and all monies should be barred until the real estate properites monies are exhausted. Telitha sined her name as T. H. Leffler.
