When Dr. G. Dean Tipton Retired, he was the Superintendent of DeWitt State Hospital, State of California, which position he had held since Jul 9 1946. "Dr. Tipton, native of Iowa, served his internship in St. Joseph's Hospital in Omha, Nebraska and had three years of general practice in Iowa. He joined the staff of Northern State Hospital in Winnebago, Wisconsin in June 1925 and has a practiced intra-mural psychiatry since that time, Including serval years in a private sanitarium for mental and nervous disorders in Ohio.

     He served in assistant superintendence in State Hospital in Iowa and entered California State Civil Service in February of 1939 at Camarillo State Hospital. He was appointed assistant superintendent there in february of 1943 and transferred to Patton State Hospital as assistant superintendent in June of 1946.

     He has superintendent at DeWitt Continueusly since 1946 except for 15 months when he served as superintendent Mendocino State Hospital in 1951 and 1952.

    Dr. Tipton is a member and past president of Placer Nevada Medical society and holds membership in the California Medical Association American Medical Association, Central California Psychiatric Society, American Psychiatric Association and is a certified mental hospital administrator of the american Psychiatric Association.

     Other memberships are held in the auburn Rotary Club, Auburn Chamber of commerce, Tahoe Club, Placer Camera Club, Charter membership of placer Chapter 86 CSEA, New York Rite Masonic bodies in Auburn and Ben Ali Shrine.

      Dr. and Mrs Tipton expect to establish their residence in Southern California. There future plans include wsome traveling, and he plans to continue his hobby, amature photography. "(25 years. Rotarian).
