ObituaryCORDELIA WILLIAMS, 95 Cordelia Williams, 95 of Portsmouth, died Friday, July 23, 1999, at the home of her son. She was born December 29, 1903, in Glenroy, a daughter of the late William Martin and Myra Editha Alton Irwin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.She was preceeded in death July 26, 1979, by her husband Earl J. Williams whom she married November 14, 1942 in Portsmouth.Surviving are one son, Arthur Leo Tipton of Wheelersburg; five grandchildren, Joseph K. Tipton, the Rev. Charles A. Tipton, Cathy R. Amato, Janis D. Ames, and Edward W. Tipton; nine great grandchildren and two great great granchildren.She was preceeded in death by one son, Bert W. Tipton, Jr.; one brother, Theodore Irwin; and one sister, Gail E. Harrison. Services will be held Monday, July 26, 1999, at Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with the Rev. Charles A. Tipton and the Rev. Thomas Hoffman officiating, and interment in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Sunday and from 9am until the funeral hour Monday at the funeral home.
