On the 1850 census of Frederick Co., one Daniel Slane was been identified as an unmarried son of John and Phebe (Hiett) Slane, age 50 years, was living in the household of Samuel P. Hiatt. Little/Littler, John, was bron in Chester County, Penn. on March 28, 1708
and died on Dec 6, 1748 in Frederick County, Va. He was one of the signers of a petition to set off Frederick County from Orange County, Va. His wife was Mary Ross, daughter of Alexander and Catherine (Chambers) Ross. She was born on Dec 13, 1706 Chester County, Penn. and died in 1771 in Frederick Co., Va.
This may well have been the grandfather of Robert Little.
