 "Nora Austin  ---  Rushville  --  Nora V. Austin, 87, of 406 McAllister Street, Rushville, died at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1989, at McDonough District Hospital.  ---  She was born Sept. 20, 1902 in Beardstown, a daughter of John and Joanna Chapman Walker.  She married Columbus Austin on Aug. 15, 1942 in Palmyra, Mo.  He preceded her in death.  --  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Macomb.  --  Survivors include one nephew, Clarence D. Willougby of Rockford.  She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.  --  Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville.  Bishop George Fanstermacher will officiate with burial in the Sugar Grove North Cemetery.  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Roby Chapel."

Eliza Jane WALKER

(Obituary, Canton Daily, 29 July 1936)

     "Mrs. Eliza J. Walker Blocher,131 West Vine Street,  died at 7 o'clock this morning at her home, after being ill for the past two years.  Born 76 years ago in Indiana, she was married to Albert Blocher, who died in 1934.  One son, Clyde Blocher, Eaton Rapids, Mich., survives.  Mrs. Blocher was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Murphy Memorial Home.  Burial will be at the Greenwood cemetery.  Friends may call at Murphy's."


Laura Ellen WALKER

      "Mrs. Laura Aten, 88, passed away yesterday morning at 7:50 o'clock in the Graham Hospital, Canton, where she has been a patient since August 10, following a fall in her home, from which she received a broken leg.  She has been ill for several years.  She was born October 1, 1962 in Georgetown, Indiana, a daughter of Lafayette Walker and Delilah Jane (Tipton) Walker.  She was married to W. Freemont Aten, September 9, 1883, at Rushville.  He preceded her in death April 9, 1927.  They were the parents of four sons and one daughter.  Mr. & Mrs. Aten lived their entire marriage life on a farm about six miles southwest of here, in Schuyler County.  Mrs. Aten moved to Vermont in 1930.  She was an active member of Harmony Rebekah Lodge and W. R. C. as long as her health permitted.  Children living are Guy F. of Rushville, Dwight L. of Macomb, Pha Heaton, Ipava, and Walker F., Peoria.  A son Len B. Aten, St. David, died February 5, of this year.  A half brother, Frank Wyand, of Rushville survives, also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Funeral services  will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Vermont Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. H. D. Simmons and Mrs. Dell N. Leach.  Internment in the Vermont cemetery."
