Family tradition states that Sarah was engaged to be married to Joseph F. Smith-later Pres. of the Church. She died while he was on a mission. When he returned she was sealed to him in the Endowment House and after the ceremony, her mother, Emmerette gave a supper for the two families--(Told by Nora Randall Thomas, eldest daughter of Levi L. Willow Valley (where AJ died) is about 50 miles from Pine, AZ.. He married Ruth Campkin 16 NOV 1893, They colonized in the Muddy Valley of UT, living for several years at Harrisburg. Then was among the pioneers called in 1877 to go into AZ, where he settled at Pine. He engaged in dry farming and stock raising. They had nine children. He died as a result of an accident when his horses became frightened and trampled him
Married Emma Burton 14 Jan 1879. Levi was a carpenter and also engaged in fruit farming. He died as a result of a run-away accident when he was thrown from a cart, causing an abcess on the brain which took his life several months later.
