She married Hiram Jessup (1210) 14 Feb 1837 in Surry Co., N.C; Hiram was an illigitimate son of Edith Jessop, daughter of Jacob Jessup and Sarah Lee. He and his wife Sallie who was his first cousin, lived near Cooke School House. Sarah (1162) died 21 Feb 1898 at age 79. She was buried in Westfield, NC.

He entered service 16 Oct 1862 as a conscript, and was in the General Hospital at Staunton, VA from 29 Jul 1863 until 3 Sep 1863. He left the company on 24 Dec 1863 and was captured by the enemy and taken to Old Capitol Prison in Washington, DC where he stayed until 14 May 1864 when he was sent to New York until the war was over. He did not marry Burial: Westfield Friends Church, Surry Co., NC.
