James Alfred LAFFOON

Entered service at Richmond 15 Apr 1862 when he was 23 and was made Corporal then.  Died at home in 1865 of fevr contracted in service...Family burial grand is Mt. Pleasant Ch. Cem. at Fries, VA, though it is not certain he was buried there.


James Ward LAFFOON Jr.

Abt 1853 they moved from Surry,NC to Howell Co. MO.


Marcus R. LAFFOON

William G. LAFFOON

Was a carpenter.....Entered service 18 Sep 1861 when he was 21.  taken prisoner at Roanoke Island, NC, he was paroled at Elizabeth City Feb 1865.  Again taken prisoner at Spotsylvania Court House 10 May 1864; POW at Point sLooiout, MD.  he was transferred to elmire Prison, NY, 10 Aug 1864.  Died there 2 Nov 1864 of diarreah.  Buried in Grave # 758, Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
