BURIAL: Jonah Z. Jackson's grave was found by me on a visit to Surry Co.  He is buried in the White Plains Baptist Church, White Plains, NC.  I noticed at the time of my visit (2002) that the stone appeared to be new. On 28 Sep 2002 during a visit to the Madison Library, I found a book (Kallam Cemetery Book of Surry County and Surrounding Areas, compiled by Lemuel Wallace Kallam) that lists Jonah's grave - same place.  However, it is worth noting that it shows upon his survey the tombstone was "broken".  Therefore, I conclude that the stone I saw during my visit in August 2002 is a replacement.  Who replaced????  I talked with Gwen Whicker Perkins (granddaughter of Jonah, daughter of Nina Pearl-Jonah's dau) and she didn't even know where the grave was, which means her sister, Robena Whicker Harrelson would not have known either. Therefore, it would not have been either of them and they are the only known direct descendants of Jonah.

BURIAL: Directions to White Plains Baptist Church:

BURIAL: The church is located about three miles south of Mt. Airy on old 601 Business.
