HOOPER -- Eleanor G. Ihle Pontius, 75, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away during surgery at Ogden Regional Medical Center on Friday, August 15, 2003.
She was born May 6, 1928 in Provo, Utah, a daughter of Walter Paul and Gertrude Fischer Ihle. She graduated from Salmon High School in Idaho and also attended LDS Business College and Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.
On January 31, 1947, Eleanor married her eternal companion, Melvin M. Pontius, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with five sons.
Eleanor worked as a Secretary at Roy High School for 24 years, retiring in 1990.
Eleanor was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Country View Ward, currently serving at Ward Organist. She had served as a Ward Organist since the age of 18. Other positions she served in were Primary Presidency, Sunday School, and Stake Relief Society. Together Eleanor and Melvin served a Mission in the Pennsylvania Pittsburg Mission. Eleanor had an unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. She spent many hours working and serving in the Ogden Temple with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin, of 56 years, her five sons, Aaron (Jeannette), Clifton (Pam), Richard (Sherry), Merlin (Colleen) and Gary (Lynette); 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Trudy (Parry) Harrison, Caldwell, Idaho; and Marilyn Bodily, Roy, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one great-granddaughter.
The family expresses thanks to the staff of Ogden Regional Medical Center for their special care of Eleanor.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 21 at 11 a.m. at the Kanesville Stake Center, 4535 West 4000 South, West Haven, Utah.
Family will meet friends at Lindquist"s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday, August 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at the Stake Center 9:40 to 10:40 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist"s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

  Born July 15, 1909 to Amy Lou and Delbert Radmall in Vinyard, Utah. She married Freeman W. Johnson May 24, 1927 in Provo, Utah. He died January 29, 1966. She married Frank Hopkins, who is deceased and Woodrow Dickey, who passed away October 1, 1992.

  She is survived by her children, Maxine Sudweek (Oral), Freeman W. Johnson Jr. (Carol), Robert V. Johnson (Lila), Virginia Josephson (Carl), Arthur D. Johnson (Frankie), Richard S. Johnson (Jeneel); 33 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; four brothers and five sisters.

  Funeral services will be held Thurs, May 9, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the Walker Mortuary, 85 East
  300 South, Provo, Utah. Friends may call one hour prior. Burial, Provo City Cemetery.

Woodrow Wilson DICKEY

Woodrow Wilson Dickey
   A very special man, Woody Dickey, died January 29, 1992, in Salt Lake City, after a long illness. He will be missed for his quick wit, sense of humor and generous nature. We miss you and will always love you.

   Born September 11, 1916, in Honeyville, Utah to Allen and Ethel Nelson Dickey. Married Naomi Lenore Park August 30, 1940, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she died March 31, 1973. Later married Venoy Elnora Radmall Johnson March 1, 1975, in Salt Lake City. Active member of the LDS Church.

   Survived by wife, Salt Lake; children, K. Shirlan and Brent Rulon Dickey; Brenda Phillips, Diane Dickey, Carol Helms and Andrea Dickey; eight grandchildren; four stepsons, two stepdaughters; brothers, Leland R., Aaron C. Dickey; sisters, Virginia Taylor, Genevieve Jacklin, Zola Mitchell, Mary Lou Musselman, Marjorie Butler.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 noon, February 1, 1992, at the Mtn View 3rd Ward Chapel, 1889 South 1700 East. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Friday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Internment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
