Richard later took Burton’s name as his own. Richard’s many films include THE ROBE (1953), LOOK BACK IN ANGER (1959), ALEXANDER THE GREAT (1959), CLEOPATRA (1963), THE LONGEST DAY (1964), HAMLET (1964), BECKET (1964), WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF (1966), THE TAMING OF THE SHREW (1967), ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS (1969), WHERE EAGLES DARE (1971), EQUUS (1977), and 1984 (1984). He was nominated for an Oscar seven times, but never won the award. He married and divorced Elizabeth Taylor twice.
