Robert Till LICHFIELD

Ruthie called this evening to let me know that my Brother Robert passed away today, She said the plans as of now is that the funeral will be on Saturday, in Bedford, Wyoming, he and Ruth have had their burial plots there for several years. I'm scheduled tomarrow at 8:30 AM to be in Dr. Portz office to have my yearly heart check up, it will be stressed chemically, and my corotid arteries and heart, and stent will be checked ......this is done every year. Am still on therap three times per week, but Alice has offered to drive Troy and I up, Wyman is already in Star Valley, Jean just called to say that she will go drive us up,,,,,,will talk to Dr. Portz, before I try to make any decision. Ruthie's cell # is 435-279-0324---if you need details, She told me quite some time ago that she went with her Dad and had Rob designated as Administrator, and was expecting him to get to her tomarrow avout the final arrangements. She said that Ruth is taking this quite well......
this came by email from Luci.... Dear Loved Ones, Uncle Robert called me on Friday and said, Luci, this is your Uncle Robert and then he gave me his phone number and hung up. I called on Friday night and Ruthie said he was pretty incoherent all day. I went over on Saturday and gave him a kiss and told him he was my favorite Lichfield Uncle and that I loved him and then I silently prayed for him to let go and to pass if he needed to. I placed my right hand on his left shoulder and he turned his chin as to snuggle. I placed my left hand in his and he kept squeezing it. He repeated my name twice so I know he knew I was there. I had a similar experience with my mother-in-law Marie who passed last July. When I arrived at the hospital her daughter told me that her mom had been incoherent all afternnon and that I could try to get her attention but not to be disappointed. I touched her shoulder and kissed her forehead just as I did my sweet uncle Saturday and she opened her eyes and said, "I can't come back this time" I knew what she meant. Her sister, Evelyn (long departed) came one night in her sleep many years ago to get her and Marie said she wasn't ready. Watching Uncle Robert hold on to dear life and yet so ready to go would put any loved one on their knees and ask a kind wise loving Heavenly Father to take him into his warm embrace. Who doesn't love Uncle Robert? Ruthie and Dale and their entire family have shown by their constant care a powerful example of what it means to honor and love your parents. As a child, I had the opportunity to stay from time to time with my Uncles and Aunts. In particular, I am grateful for the homemade bread, the fresh berry jam, the overwhelming love and acceptance I felt from Uncle Robert and Aunt Ruth. Luci
