and Alice Ivie Firth of Duchesne, UT. He married Dora Oaks on October 8, 1954 in Evanston, WY.Boyd was a member of the LDS Church, VFW, Vernal Racing Association and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Boyd's life joys were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his spare time Boyd enjoyed listening to music. Boyd is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dora; children, Drew (Lori) Firth of Evanston, WY; Dennis (Laura) Firth of Parachute, CO; Dan (Syd) Firth of Henderson, NV; Connie (Jody "Bo') Aronson of Kemmerer, WY; brothers, Don (Jean) Firth of Layton, UT; Julia Harvey of St. George, UT; Lela Richens of Roosevelt, UT; Lila (GayLynn) Oaks of Vernal, UT; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at 11:30 am at the Dry Fork Cemetery. Family and close friends may call on Wednesday from9:30 to 10:30 am at Thompson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Burial will be in the Dry Fork Cemetery under the direction of Thompson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary with Military Honors by American Legion Posts 124 and 11.
Terry Pitt
Terry Pitt, 63, of Green River, Wyo., died at his home Monday, July 16, 2001. A resident of Wyoming for the past 30 years and a former resident of Vernal, Mr. Pitt died following a sudden illness. He was born on Feb. 3, 1938 in Vernal, a son of Dez and Catherine Stringham Pitt. Terry attended schools in Vernal and Rangely, Colo. He married Naomi Oaks in 1958 and later divorced. He then married Lorna Clark in 1961 and later divorced. He married Brenda McCillan on April 28, 1989 in Craig, Colo. Terry served in the United States Army. He was co-owner of Pitt Construction. Terry loved his family. He loved and enjoyed it to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Pitt, Green River, Colo.; mother, Catherine Hatch, Vernal; three sons, Kary Pitt; Randy (Heather) Pitt; David (Brandy) Pitt, all of Rock Springs, Wyo.; two daughters, Debbie (Elvis) Prescott, Neola; and Taralynn, Woodland, Wash.; step-daughter, Karla Ruggiero, Seattle, Wash.; sister, Joyce (Claud) Sims, Rock Springs, Wyo.; nine grandchildren; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Dez Pitt.Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2001 at 10 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, 3315 White Mountain Road, Rock Springs, Wyo. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel Wednesday at 12 noon until 8 p.m. and Thursday morning at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with military honors provided by the American Legion under the direction of Vase Funeral Home and Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
