Died of a heart attack ("angina pectoris") after an illness of a few days
Worked as Editor and publisher of Ralls Banner, the Texas Spur, and several other newspaper
The old Clarksville Standard was the first publishing house in Texas, according to Pat B. Clark's History of Clarksville and Old Red River County. The building was erected in 1841 and the first issue published in 1842. DeMorse was the publisher. The Clarksville Times was being published in 1909 and also in 1937, so was probably the paper where AC was working at age sixteen.
