Elizabeth first married Mahlon Heston 18 Feb 1879 in Jefferson County, IA. She married/2 Jesse Stubbs Lamm on 20 May 1918, a late second marriage for both.

Elizabeth had no children of her own, according to both the 1900 and 1910 censuses, but she and Mahlon Heston adopted two boys, Frank and Eddie, birth parents unknown. Frank is also shown as adopted by Elizabeth's second husband Jesse Lamm, even though Frank was an adult before they married.
