William Perry was a professional genealogist who spent most of his adult
life in Raleigh, N.C. For many years he edited a periodical devoted to N.C.
genealogical research-- it was published under several different titles.

William Perry Johnson of Raleigh, N.C., died 1980 Octobert 18. Johnson had been semi-retired for several years. He has done research for hundreds of family historians who had North Carolina and /or Quaker ancestors.
He will be long remembered for his Hiatt-Hiett Genealogy and Family History (1951) and his quarterly, North Carolina Genealogy (v. 1-19, The North Carolinian) March, 1955 - Fall/Winter, 1975.
Johnson had arranged for his reference library to go to the Quaker
Collection of the Guilford College Library. This not only included his own
material but the Webster Parry collection that he had purchased form the late
Edna Harvey Joseph. Damon Hickey of Guilford Library reports that the Johnson material has been in storage as they do not presently have the room to shelve it.
William Perry Johnson was a Hoosier, born in Grant County 1918 May 16 of
Quaker Stock. He married Della Hinshaw of Randolph Co., Ind 1943 July 23.
Johnson had lived for some thirty years in Raleigh. He is survived by a
daughter, Rose May Lowe of Covina, Calif. and a sister, Louise Henderson,
