In 1860, Elizabeth Davis, age 68, mother of Samuel, was in the household as was a Mary E. Windsor?, age 17.  In 1900, Samuel and Mary lived with Adalyne in Leesburg.  See Federal census of 1900, Highland Co., Oh.  E.D. 109-2-20
   Samuel was buried in Highland Cemetery, Villiage of Highland.  See McBride Cem. p. 129.  The stone carried his birth and death dates.!    Sent by Ronald Tetrick.

    Samuel Davis and Mary Hiatt were issued a marriage license in Highland Co., Ohio on 6-16-1848.  See McBride, Marriage, p. 60
   Since Samuel Davis, son of Tomas, named a daughter Harriett, it seems likely the marriage record referred to him.
   Mary HIatt belonged to the Neweberry MM and condemned her marriage out of unity on 6-10-1849.  See Hinshaw vol. 5, p. 394
   In 1858, a Mary Davis, probably she, transfered from Newberry MM to Clear Creek MM in Highland Co.  See Hinshaw above, pg. 327
   Samuel was received on request at Clear  Creek MM in 1872, and in 1897 Samuel and Mary transferred to Fairfield MM, Highland Co., Ohio.
   Several of Samuel's children also joined the Clear Creek MM.  Adalyne joined at the time of her marriage.  See p. 283 of Hinshaw.  Adalyne's birth was fiven on p. 282.  She was the second wife of David F. Terrell.
   Lorenzo, James E. and Lorenzo's wife, Edna, joined in 1877;  Amos J. joined in 1879.  See pg. 328 of Hinshaw.
   In 1871 Samuel Davis wsa appointed guardian of Victoria and Mary Jane Davis, daughters of Harmon Davis, Jr.  D.F. Terrell was one of his sureties.
