Death: Sep. 13, 2003Mrs. Pansy E Lovelace, age 74, of 111 Longmeadow Road, Taylors, S.C., wife of Sam E. Lovelace, passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, at Roger Huntington Nursing Home in Greer, S.C. Mrs. Lovelace was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Dobson, to Berry Ebin And Susan Alice Edwards. Mrs. Lovelace was retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, and was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Roy Edwards, B.O. Edwards, Paul Edwards, Woodrow Edwards, and Nick Edwards of Dobson; and sisters Betty Brown of Winston-Salem and Lola Smith of Dobson. Survivors include sisters Ethel (Harold) Southard of Tayors, S.C., Emma (Jack) Lovelace of Jonesville, Kizzy (Mack) Bullins of Dobson, Thelma (Harvey deceased) Moser of Dobson, Bertha (Ernest) Montgomery of Pilot Mountain; and brother John Edwards of Dobson. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Vernon Ball will officiate. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fall Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Elkin. Death: 1661 Gloucester County Virginia, USARev. Charles Grymes, an Anglican minister in England was caught up in the emerging conflicts associated with the Puritans. Evidently he had to flee to the new colony of Virginia. Charles Grymes came to VA by 1644. He was rector of New Poquoson Parish (later named Charles Parish in York Co.) Later he was rector of Purton/Popular Spring Church, Petsworth Parish, Gloucester Co., VA. Charles owned large tracks on land on the Rappahannock River in Lancaster Co., VA. About 1657, Rev. Charles Grymes married Katherine, the widow of William Debnam. They were the parents of one son, Col. John Grymes, I.

Her presence in VA has not been documented prir to 1637. It is most likely that Katherine was from a gentry family in England--one that was well-known in the Colonies. Through her marriage to William Debnam, Katherine became the ancestor of many who would later marry into the families of Ball, Bankhead, Byrd, Carter, Fitzhugh, Grymes, Lee, Lewis, Lightfoot, Mann, Marshall, Nelwon, Peyton, Randolph, Smith, Stribling, Taylor, Warner, Washington, and Wormeley.Family links:
