Walter J. MCCREARY

Birth: 1861 Death: 1891 Walter's parents were Andrew Johnson McCreary and his mother was Margaret S (Sturgeon) McCreary. He attended Buchtel College (now the University of Akron) and worked as a bookkeeper while attending classes. On 10/23/1886 he was initiated into the Ohio Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was reported to have died on 6/8/1891 at Fairview, PA by the General Headquarters of the fraternity in Oxford, OH.In the 1870 US Federal Census he is listed as 5 years old as of 6/15/1870 which would make his year of birth either 1865 or 1866.INFO thanks to Hank Bertsch Family links: Parents:A. Washington County, OH to Windsor, Morgan County, OH. He was a merchant.

Jane Miranda DUNSMOOR

Jane died of consumption 1/28/1847 leaving two daughters, Marcella I THOMAS and
Florence M THOMAS. These girls resided principally with their grandfather
THOMAS in Putnam, Ohio. There was also a son who died when he was less than
two years old.
