William inherited 130 acres of "Howard's Inheritance", 200 acres of land where Richard Beard's mill stood, & 270 acres near Bodkin Creek, & a parcel of woodland, being a portion of William Hopkins.
Notes for WILLIAM WORTHINGTON:In 1730 bought of Thomas Homenon a tract of land lying on the s/s of Homenon Creek. It had been first patented in 1660 & called "Compliment". The boundaries extended to the Maggothy River near "the narrows" opposite "the mountains" & islands in the Chesapeake Bay designated "the three Sisters". ************************************************************************************ He executed his will 9/25/1770 He bequeathed his daughter Arianna 200a of "The Plains" but in the event that she died without issue then it reverted to his granddaughter Ruth Davis. He devised negroes & $100 to his daughter Ruth Shaw. To his grandson William Worthington Davis on his 21st birthday, the estate on Maggothy Rivercalld "Homewood's Range" 300a, "Blay's Neck" 200a & other tracts, a number of slaves, his watch, a quantity of silver-plate engraved with his initials, including my silver quart tankard marked W W." The silver tankard was once owned by Mrs Thomas F Bowie. His granddaughter Mary Ann DAvis was given lands on the s/s of the Magothy called "Pawson's Chance" & other tracts but in case she died without issue then to his grandson William Worthington Davis. Another grandson William Worthington was devised realty, negroes & silver plate. The son in law John Davis wa named as executor.
