Death: Mar. 7, 2000 Winston-Salem Forsyth County North Carolina, USAJames Roscoe Marshall Sr., 75, of Old School House Rd., Ararat, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was born July 12, 1924, in Patrick County, and was a son of the late Arnold and Lillie Smith Marshall. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Katie Hiatt; and three brothers, Protch Marshall, Herbert Marshall and Wyse Marshall. He was a retired farmer and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Culler Marshall of the home; one son, James (Jimmy) Roscoe Marshall Jr. of the home; and one sister, Lizzie Delionback of Ararat. Graveside services were held Thursday at Oakdale Cemetery. The Revs. Arlis Thomas and Porter Harold officiated. Arrangements were by Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy.
