Peleg was a lieutenant in the army of the Revolution and at the surrender of Burgoyne took command of the company after the captain was killed. In 1784 he united with the Baptish Church of Voluntown, and Jan. 18, 1789, was licensed to preach.He was ordained 25 Oct. 1792 and admitted elder of the First Baptish Church, Stonington, nearly 23 years.
