Upon the death of General Lowrey on February 27, 1885, Dr. W. T. Lowrey, his son, became president of Blue Mountain College. He served in this capacity until 1898 when he resigned to become president of Mississippi College at Clinton. He was succeeded by his brother, Dr. Booth Lowrey, who served as president until he retired in 1911. Dr. W. T. Lowrey again became president. In 1925, Dr. Lawrence T. Lowrey, son of Booth Lowrey, succeeded his uncle as president of the college. Dr. Lawrence Lowrey is still president of Blue Mountain College.
Reverend Non Q. Adams was teaching school in Choctaw County at the outbreak of the Civil War. He served with distinction during the war, and in one battle he lost his left arm. He served eight years as a member of the State Senate from Oktibbeha and Choctaw Counties. He conducted extensive farming operations. He was president of a bank in Sturgis; and even after he was seventy-five years of age, he served as a member of the House of Representatives in Mississippi.
Celina, who was born on July 25, 1870. She married Jim Black. They had eight children born to them, and all live near Ackerman, Mississippi.
Daniel Madison was born on November 25, 1861. He married Virgie Adams, the daughter of Reverend N. Q. Adams of Sturgis, Mississippi. They had five children: Ina, Ada, Non, Ernest, and Tommy D. Daniel Madison died in 1921.
Two very lovely ladies of this early day still live there. Virgie Berry, the widow of Daniel Madison Berry, still lives on their farm near Wake Forest. Anna Hannah, the widow of Ralph E. Hannah, and her son, Erskine Hannah, live in the original house built by William and Lois Hannah. However, Aunt Anna spends much of her time with her daughter, Mrs. Nobie Moore, in Memphis, Tennessee. Erskine Hannah married Ina Berry, one of the daughters of Daniel and Virgie Berry. Their children were born on this Hannah farm. The children and grandchildren of Virgie Berry and Anna Hannah are very active in the religious, civic, and business life of this community today.

Micajah Holden was born on August 27, 1859. He married Roxie Lancaster. They had four children: Ella, Mallie, Edna, and Thomas. All of these children were born in Mississippi. About 1895, Micajah, his wife, and children moved from Choctaw County, Mississippi, to Delta County, Texas. Micajah Holden died at Cooper, Texas, in 1945. Three of his children, Mallie, Edna, and Thomas, are still living. Edna and Thomas live in Texas; and Mallie Harvey lives in Oklahoma. Ella passed away several years-ago. Four of her children live in Dallas; and Ruth and Ruby, her two daughters, live in Corpus Christi, Texas.
