This Indenture, made this twenty third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two between John Sowders and Elizabeth Sowders his wife of the County of Vermilion, and State of Illinois, of the one part, and William Reed and Amos Williams of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Sowders and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred Dollars current money of the United States to them in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these present, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold; aliened, released, enfeoffed, conveyed and connfrimed, and by these present doth grant, bargain and sell; alien, release, enfeoff, convey and confirm unto the said William Reed and Amos Williams and with their heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances lying and being in the County of Vermilion, and State of Illinois, to wit, half of the East half of the North East quarter of section one of township Nineteen North of Range Twelve West of the ........... and principal meridian, containing seventy-nine and ..... acres being the same more or less, and all the estate, right, behoof, claim, interest and fee of them the said John Sowders and Elizabeth Sowders his wife, of, in and to the same, to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances unto the said William Reed and Amos Williams and to their heirs and assigns, to their only proper use and title forever. And the said John Sowders and Elizabeth Sowders his wife do covenant and agree with the said William Reed and Amos Williams and with their heirs and assigns, that they will and their heirs executors and administrators shall warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcel of land, with all the appurtenances unto the said William Reed and Amos Williams and their heirs and assigns, all and every person or persons whatsoever, lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In Witness wereof the said John Sowders and Elizabeth Sowders his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals on the day and year first above written.

I, Joseph Patterson, one of the acting Justices of the Peace, in and for said County, do hereby certify that the above named John Sowders and Elizabeth Sowders his wife who were personally known to me to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing, Deed of Conveyance as having executed the same this day in their proper persons came before me and acknowledged that they severely signed, sealed and delivered the said Deed, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Elizabeth Sowders being made fully acquainted with the contents of the above Deed, and by me examined separate and apart from her husband, acknowledged that she executed the said Deed and relinquished her dower to the lands and tenements therein mentioned, voluntarily, freely and without compulsion of her said husband. Know all men by these present that one William Guthery and Sarah his wife and John Sowders Sen'r and Elizabeth Sowders his wife and Michael Guthery and Elizabeth Guthery his wife and Nancy Yeager for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars current money of the United States to them in hand paid by John A. Oder the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have remised, released and forever quit claimed and by these present do remise, release and forever quit claim unto the said John A. Oder and to his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances lying and being in the County of Vermilion and State of Illinois and described as follows to wit, The South East quarter of the South East quarter of Section eight in Township Twenty North of Range Twelve West containing forty acres more or less: To have and to hold the foresaid premises with all the privileges and appurtenances to the said tract or parcel of land belonging appertaining unto said John A. Oder and to his heirs and assigns to have it for their own propper use and behoof forever so that neither of the said William Guthery and Sarah Guthery his wife, and John Sowders and Elizabeth Sowders his wife, Michael Guthery and Elizabeth Guthery his wife, Nancy Yeager nor their heirs nor any person or persons claiming under him or them shall at anytime hereafter by anyway or means having claim or demand any right or title to the foresaid premises or appurtenances or any part or parcel thereof forever. In witness whereof the said William Guthery and Sarah Guthery his wife and John Sowders and Elizabeth Sowders his wife and Mike Guthery and Elizabeth Guthery his wife and Nancy Yeager have hereunto set their hands and seals this the 11th day of February, A.D. 1852
