Never married... Enlisted in Co. A , 28th Reg. NC Troops on 4 May 1861.  Was wounded and captured at Gettysburg, PA on 3 Jul 1863.  Was confied at Fort Delaware, DE and Point Lookout, MD. where he was paroled on 1 Nov 1864.

Was a carpenter.....Entered service 18 Sep 1861 when he was 21.  taken prisoner at Roanoke Island, NC, he was paroled at Elizabeth City Feb 1865.  Again taken prisoner at Spotsylvania Court House 10 May 1864; POW at Point sLooiout, MD.  he wastransferred to elmire Prison, NY, 10 Aug 1864.  Died there 2 Nov 1864 of diarreah.  Buried in Grave # 758, Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY.  CO B 2nd Battalion NC
