William C. Gass died at Nashville, (He was a soldier in the Union army with
Gen. Rosencrans, and died from the effects of a wound received at Murfreesboro).From Civil War records: Pvt. Co. B 9th KY Vol. from Jackson Co. Tenn. in Capt Silas Clark Co. Gass gave age 30, 5'10", fair, blue, light hair, married, a farmer - pay @ death $46.78. Wounded in neck 30 Dec 1862, died 3 Feb 1863. In service from 26 Nov 1861 until death 3 Feb 1863. (b. 15 Sep 1830) No further information about a wife or children.
