pvt. CO A 28 REG NC...There is no military record for him, but his pension record states that he was in this company. Family says he chose to join the company when he was about 15 because he had relatives in Co A 28 REG.
Volunteered 4 May 1861. He suffered a wound in his right elbow at Gaines Mill, VA, 27 Jun 1862. He made 1st SGT 21 Sept 1862. He suffered wounds again in his baack and in his right hand 5 May 1863 at Wilderness, VA. Hesuffered wounds a 3rdtime in his shoulder at Reams Station, VA. Discharged around 22 Feb 1865 because of that wound. He was described and 5' 11", blue eyes, fair complexion, light hair and wounded nine times. 1st Sgt. CO A 28 REG NC
