9.  Townsend Family Bible Records.  This Bible was owned by Florence
Yates Townsend who gave it to her daughter, Edna Townsend Creagh.
Edna in turn has given it to a daughter who lives in New Mexico.

10. David B. Crockett Family Bible Records. This Bible is now owned by
by Mrs. Roy Brock of Martin, Weakley County, TN., who is also a
descendent.  The Bible was published in 1828.  On the inside front
cover is the inscription, "David B. Crockett's Bible."  It gives the
birth, marriage, and death dates of David B. Crockett, his wife,
Drucilla Elder, and their children.  The names of Robert Crockett
and his wife Margaret are given as the parents of David B. Crockett.

11. Information taken from tombstones in Salem Cemetery, located on the
Bradford highway, East of Rutherford in Gibson County.

12. "Cemetery Records of North Gibson County" by Emily Walker.

13. Copy of original will drawn on 1 May 1779 and signed by John Yates in
Caswell County, NC. He signed the will and did not use a mark (X).

Harriett WORD

Both Ruffin and Nanch are buried at the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery which is located East of Rutherford near the Good Luck Community. Ruffin's first wife Nancy Crockett was the daughter of my Great, Great, Grandfather David B. Crockett.
In 1870, Ruffin owned real estate valued at $750.00 and personal property valued at $800.00.
