Larry Anderson - Families and Individuals

Notes

Jonathan CATLIN

Jonathan is the first Catlin of his line (the third such) in these records.  He shares this distinction with his brother Nathaniel.

He came from Orange County, NY in about 1800.  His wife's name is not yet known, although she apparently died before he left Orange County.

He and Nathaniel might also have had a sister named Anna and another named Susannah Elizabeth.  Anna was born in 1765, died in 1863, and was buried in Maryland.  Susannah married a John Martin near Wantage, NY in 1759.  This information about the sisters seems to be speculative or tentative, so I am not putting entries for them in this file.

Eleanor CATLIN

Eleanor married, was a widow in 1830, and had a son between 1800 and 1810.  Names and further details not yet known.

John CATLIN

John was "demented" and single.  He was 57 years old in 1826.

Ruth CATLIN

Ruth did not marry.  She remained with her father as his housekeeper.

John DECKER

A ferryman.

Phoebe CATLIN

Phoebe and her husband had three children, names not yet known.
