A memorial service for Richard Lloyd Ridgley of Northeast Portland, a
retired vice president for ESCO Corp., will be at 3P.m. Friday in the Chapel of
Lincoln Williamette Funeral Directors. Interment will be in Williamette
National Cemetery.
Mr. Ridgley died of liver disease Monday in a Reno, Nev., hospital. He was
62 years old.
Born Nov 30, 1926 in Lynch, Neb., he had lived in the Portland area since
the early 1940's. Mr. Ridgley worked for ESCO Corp. for many years and was
serving as vice president of operations at the time of his retirement in 1988.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was awarded the
Silver Star.
Survivors include his wife, Lee; sons, Randy of Portland and Robert of
Davis, Calif.; daughters, Vicki Stark of Forest Grove and Susan Wilhoit of
Newberg; brother, Ron of Casper Wyo; Stepbrother, Edward Clemens of Hillsboro;
stepsister, Doris Pierce Portland; and six grandchildren. His first wife,
Colleen Ridgley, died in 1979.
The family suggest that remembrences be contributions to the Alzheimer's

Richard was born in Lynch, Nebraska, November 30, 1926. He moved with his
father and brother to Portland, Oregon in the early 1940's. He was a World War
II Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the South Pacific. He was
awarded the Silver Star. After returning from the war he married Colleen
Clemens. They had four children. Victoria, Randy, Robert and Susan. Colleen
died in 1979. He later remarried Lee ----? He worked for the ESCO Corporation
since hte end of WW II and was Vice President of Operations at the time of his
retirement in 1988. He died in Reno, Nevada in July of 1989.
