Obituarie:
Bernice P. Wells. taught school in Neb. and briefly in Wyoming, where she
filed one of the first homesteads in the Deaver area. She was a member of the
Methodisht Church in Deaver.
Mrs. Wells, 94, died Saturday morning in Yellowstone County Nursing Home of
natural causes.
She was born in Odell, Neb a daughter of Isaac and Philena Palmer, and
grated from high school in Odell. She attened Peru Teachers College, Peru,
Neb. and then taught school before her marriage to Floyd Wells on 22 Dec 1920,
in Deaver. He died in 1975. She moved to Billings in 1982.
Survivors included four daughters, Mrs. L.C. "Helen" McPherren of Cokevlle,
Wyo, Mrs. Keith (Marjorie) Newman of Torrington, Wyo., Mrs Vera Sorensen of Los
Angeles, Calif, and Mrs. Paul (Garnet ) Wagner of Billings, a son, Roland Wells
of Powell, Wyo; 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m Tuesday in Deaver Cem., Smith Downtown Chapel of
Billing is in charge.
