In 1950 Gillmur Hiett wrote: “My Father’s sister Mary Hiett, married a man, I think his name was Simson Johnson. They had two children, George and Lidy. I don’t know what become of them, they used to live at Marengo Iowa. I have not heard from them since 1872.” (R113).

Tradition: George Hiett's ancestors came from England in 1734 and took possession of a large farm in the Shenandoah Valley, which was the home of the family for over 120 years.
George Hiett was disowned, 2-4mo-1819, by Hopewell Mo. Mtg., Frederick Co., Va., for marriage contrary to discipline.

One Monday last Mr. George Hyatt, died at the residence of his son, A.S.
Hyatt of Riley Township, ages 82 years, 4 months and 20 days. Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, the funeral took place on Thurday from the M.E. Church, to Oakland cemetery. Deceased was an old resident, having come to this county from Virginia or Maryland some 25 years ago. was extensively known and very much respected.

Robert Carl was born to Hazel Hiatt and Carl O. Anderson in Marion, Ind on August 29, 1911. Robert Carl was a blue baby and not expected to live. With around the clock care he came thru it with flying colors, the only effect being a slight heart murmer. He was 15 years old when his parents moved to Texas. He attended the Old Central High School now Paschal High School) and graduated in Jun 1929 as a member of the R.O.T.C. (Reserve Officers Training Cre). After graduation he joined the texas National Guard, Troop B.Cavalry. He worked for A. Brandt Furniture Manufacturing Company and went to welding school at night. For two years he lived in Mooringsport, Louisaiana and worked for the Gulf Pipeline Co. In Jan 1939 Robert moved to Caracar, Venezuela, South America. From here he was mvoed to job locations in Columbia, S.A. Island of Aruba, Port of Spain Trinidad and to Maracaibo, Venezuela. Also during this time he married Benedicta Vasquez, Bencomb, a native of Venezuela.
They had four children, Carlos Hiatt, Hazel Ester, Harry Hiatt, and Margo Louise. Robert returned to the United States for visits five times bringing with him Carlos and Hazel when they were six and seven. Hazel had osteomyelitus in her left arm. She is left handed and needed surgery as she was having a hard time with her writing after she started school. Robert died at the age of 59 of Cirrhosisof of the liver and is buried in Maracaibo, Venezuela.
