I can tell you little. The Hiatt family records were burned at Crofton, Mich about 1876 or 1877. Those which we have were copied from the Bible of Joshua Carter, now in possession of Mrs. Joshua Hiatt, Alden, Mich... My gransdfather Uriah Ballard Hiatt went ‘out west’ to Kansas and died there. The family do not know exactly when or where. Whatever information was available was burned with the family possessions at Crofton, Mich. About 1867… I would be glad to hear if these fit into your records. There is ledenrady (legendary - editor). story of eight brothers coming from ‘the old country’ - England or maybe France - or Ireland - in the early days of NC. There were Hiatts in Virginia and S. C. also …. Copied from bible belonging to Joshua Carter, now inpossession of Mrs. Joshua Hiatt, Alden, Mitch.: Angelina Carter b. Morgan Co., Ind. 1820; d. Coldwater, Mich, 1909; Uriah Ballard Hiatt b. Highland Co., Ohio; d. Kansas 1872. No record of their marriage that we know of. Children: John Franklin b.
