Herbert Blue records that Anthony Thompson moved to Illinois from Ohio in November 1840, along with his brothers John and Samuel. Anthony farmed 360 acres in Woodland Township of Fulton County, Illinois.
Lucy Shields Thompson's obituary said the family moved to Fulton County, Illinois in 1830. A family record from Virginia Shelley Trotter gives the date of Lucy Shields Thompson's death as 17 January 1890.

During the Civil War, Enoch Thompson as a corporal in Company H, Third Illinois Cavalry. He was 6 feet 3 1/2 inches tall.
Herbert L. Blue shows that Mary Elizabeth Thompson was born 8 February 1845 and died 6 February 1925. He confirms, however, that her death certificate shows a date of 7 February 1925. He says Mary Elizabeth and Enoch Thompson were cousins. Her name is Mary C. Thompson on her tombstone.
