In the 13 Dec 1785 will of his father "I give unto my well beloved son John Williams the land & plantation I now live on to him and his heirs for ever".
1784-1787 State Census of North Carolina lists a John Williams in Warren County, in a neighboring district of Atkins McLemore. Lists 1 white male 21-60 (John), 1 white male under 21 or above 60 (Littlebury), 2 white females (wife Jane and either Eliza or Barbara). I do not know where the other female is.
1790 Census of North Carolina shows John Williams in Warren County with 2 white males 16 years and up (Littlebury may be mistaken listed here), 1 white male under 16 (Littlebury or Gideon), 3 white females (Jane, Eliza, and Barbara), and 6 slaves. Daniel Vaulx is listed on this same page.
Davidson County TN will book 3, pg. 15, "McLemore A Deed of Gift May 22d 1805 Know all men by these presents that I John Williams of Davidson County, State of Tennessee. For the love and affection, I have for my grand son Atkins Jefferson McLemore I give unto him a certain Negro Girl slave about thirteen or fourteen years old named Milly which girl I warrant and defend unto the said minor & his heirs forever with all her increase, I further doth by these presents promise and agree to deliver up said girl Milly when called for unto Robert McLemore, the father of said minor, Atkins Jefferson McLemore, to & for the proper use & benefit of said Atkins Jefferson McLemore his heirs etc. As witness my hand & seal April 19th 1805" Test: Robert Weakly, Wm.
