Jacob K. is cousin to his Uncle David's children who also marries 4 of the Reed family. Jacob marries a 4th sister.
I added an app. birth date, only on general basis to establish time frame.
Refered to as Polly by her cousin Daniel R. Teeter. Probably Mary, as that is the common nickname of that time for Mary Ann.
Daniel R. Teeter, cousin, refers to her as Betsy. Betsy is the common
nickname of the time for Elizabeth. Could this have been the Elizabeth who
married James Pence, wherein Susannah Holsinger, age 11 was living in 1850
census of Southhampton, Bedford Co., Penn. #51??
An account of the death of Sarah (Sally) is contained in the "Lizzie"
letter that Daniel Burger Teeter wrote to his niece, Elizabeth Teeter,
daughter of his brother Jacob then living near Polo, IL: "Sally (Sarah)
was married to John Holsinger. He poisoned her by no means intentionally,
but he acted very carelessly. Sally had not been well; wanted some
quinine. John went to town (they resided in Nebraska) and got quinine for
Sally and Corrosive Sublimate for to use for some ailment that one of his
horses had. When he got back home Sally came out to get her quinine;
through mistake John gave her the corrosive sublimate and she took a dose
of it. When he came to the house shortly after giving her the package she
was in great convulsions. A Doctor was brought soon but there was no hope
for Sally; she had to die. That happened several years ago; it was
published in the Gospel Messenger." CGT/
