RESIDENCE NOTE: Rev. Sharp says that Young M. moved to Lawrence Co. TN from
Marshall Co in 1860.It was in Lawrence Co that his children married.
 Joe Mack Hight in letter dated Feb 1995 (Enc #820) states that they moved to
Lawrence Co. in 1860, after the census (which shows them in Marshall Co).
He further states that David B. PICKENS bought the HUDSON farm (229-3/4 a.) for
$5000 - recorded 10 Feb 1862.

 W. J. HAYES & Others vs. Minty C. GRIFFIS & als.
 Will of Anderson GRIFFIS made August 30 1856 in this Case. He names wife
Elizabeth, gave her 100 acres of land adjoing Elizabeth JONES, Richard WILKES,
William J. GRIFFIS and David HILL.  At the death of Elizabeth land was to go
to son, John S. GRIFFIS.  He names three daughters Nancy Emily, Josephine
Paralee and Frances Demaris.  John J. GRIFFIS died, testate, in 1862 in Giles
County, leaving surviving his widow Minty C. and son John C. GRIFFIS.  W. J.
HAYS [sic] was administrator of his estate with W. J. GRIFFIS and David
KINCAID his securities.  John S. GRIFFIS died owing about 114 acres of land on
which he resided.  He received the land from his father Anderson GRIFFIS.
Minty C. GRIFFIS married John S. SMITH.  76 acres of land was allotted to
Minty C. as her Dower tract.  This land lay in the 17th District of Giles
County.
Elizabeth GRIFFIS died October 4, 1859.  A. J. ABERNATHY was appointed
guardian of John C. GRIFFIS."  [I don't know if this is the same David HILL -
