1851, 13 Sep: James L. MORRIS sold James S. COWDEN 2.4 a for $374, beginning at
W. B. HOLDEN's NW corner, E 45.5 poles with his line, N 8 poles 14.5', W 45.5
poles to BREECHEN's line, S with his line 8 poles 13.5 to the beginning, the
same being the SW quarter of a 10 a tract "which I bought of John R. HILL and N.
T. MOORE" (Marshall Co. L-107).
In a Chancery Court suit of 1856/7 it was stated that James S. COWDEN sold 2.5
a to DeWitt C. ORR and ORR stated that day he purchased the land he sold it to
Wm B. HOLDEN for a gold watch and $200 in a note due in twelve months.
At that time HOLDEN still owed $177.70 on the note and the court sold the
land. D. C. ORR bought it for a bid of $32, 1 Jan 1857. The court suit said
that ORR sold the land to Willis COLLINS 25 Nov 1857 and he sold it to John
CARPENTER the same day. Witnessess: R. K. KERCHEVAL, J. J. MURRAY, J. N.

1859, 25 Nov: Whereas at the sale of a portion of the real estate of Wm. B.
HOLDEN had under a decree of the Chancery Court at Lewisburg 1 Jan 1857
DeWitt C. ORR purchased for $32 and the Chancery Court at its Feb 1858 term
pronounced the following final decree in said cause, to wit: D. C. ORR vs W.
B. HOLDEN and J. S. COWDEN - teh complainant is judged a creditor of W. B.
HOLDEN and that he has paid the cost and is due a deed - and Whereas D. C. ORR
to whom by said decree a deed is to be made did 25 Nov 1859 sell to Willis
COLLINS - "I have sold Willis COLLINS all my right and claim to a
house and 2 A of ground heretofore purchased by me and sold as the property o
Wm. B. HOLDEN - and Whereas Willis COLLINS did on the same day sign, seal and
deliver the following instrument to John CARPENTER said land adjoining the lot
of T. W. BRENTS, Ussery, and Gaston BRAWLEY - R. K. KERCHEVAL, Clerk & Master
