E. M. Sharp, PICKENS FAMILIES OF THE SOUTH:
p. 120. "Robert lived in Greene County, TN, apparently on land which had been
granted to James PICKENS. He is shown there in the census of 1830, and 1840. He
was born between 1770-1780, and apparently around 1870 and may have been the
oldest child. In 1830 he is son with a wife and three children. In 1840 his wife
has died and he has four children. In 1850 he is dead, and his four children are
living together. [names children]. They [the children] had all moved from the
county in 1860 and whereabouts unknown."

=============================================================================
From Don Fink: Feb, 1998.
In one of the following books it says that David R. PICKENS was a
brother-in-law to Edward McMullin MORELOCK, which would make him a brother of
Elizabeth PICKENS. I believe this is in error. According to information that I
had previously, and I believe to be correct, Elizabeth's mother would have
been too young to have had David R.
I believe that David R. was a cousin of Elizabeth instead of a brother.
