Mrs. Crowey Dies Of Old Age At Her Home Near Napa
Mrs Jane Crowey, widow [sic] of the late GW Crowey died at 10:45 Monday night at her home near Napa, from old age. She had been gradually growing weaker for several months, and her death therefore was not unexpected.
Mrs. Crowey was a native of Roane County, Tennessee, where she was born April 20th 1819. She was therefore 81 years of age. She moved to Wright County, Missouri in 1833, and in 1852 came across the plains to California. From that time until her death she resides on the well known Crowey Ranch, about seven miles northeast of town. Her husband died in 1882. They had 8 children, of whom two, Mrs. P.A. Hogan and John G. Crowey, survive. She leaves two brothers John F. Edington of this county, and Phillip Edington of Lompoc, and a number of grandchildren.
Mrs. Crowey was a typical western pioneer lady, vigorous to a ripe old age, kind, gentle, and unassuming, endowed with that warm hospitality characteristic of that sturdy race, and which is disapearing with them. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Christian Church in Napa, the cortege leaving the home place at about 11:30.

Will of Mrs. Jane Crowey
The will of the late Jane Crowey was filled for Probate with the county clerk on Wednesday. The bulk of the property, which mainly consists of real estate, is bequeathed to her daughter Nancy A. Hogan, her son John G. Crowey and her grandson, Edward Hogan. She also made a number of smaller bequests to her grandchildren Jennie Monroe, Rebecca Crow, Louise, Lawrence, Jessie, John and Wm. Grigsby, Flora Hogan and Willie Hogan. She also left an appropriation for the improvement of her plot in Tuleray Cemetery. Edward Hogan and John G. Crowey are appointed to act as executors with out bonds. The estate is valued at about $30,000

I am descended from William R. Edington (b.1825 Tn.) His son is Samuel Alexander Edington (b. 1847 Tn.) They came to Texas right after the Civil War. I can't find William after 1880. He had been in Comanche Co., and then his Sam moved to Brown Co. It's like William disappeared off the face of the earth. His wife was Nancy Vaughn.
