According to "Haddox-Skelton Heritage" by Ruth Haddox Harrington, 2005, pg. 233: Blanch Mercer, daughter of Edward & Mary (Lemon) Mercer was born 15 June 1748 [note different year as recorded in Family Bible], married 1) Thomas Babb, her first cousin, in 1762, married 2) __?__ McMullen ca. 1781, and she died 1 Sept 1821 at 79 years, 2 months & 17 days and is buried in Babb Cemetery, Xenia, OH. Children of Thomas & Blanch (Mercer) Babb: 1. John Babb, b ca 1763 - died perhaps in the Revolutionary War. He was not in his father's 1779 will. 2. Philip Babb, b 13 June 1764 - was on father's will, but was believed to have been killed after 1779 in the Revolutionary War. 3. Thomas Babb, Jr.  (1766-1858) m. Margaret Wilson 4. Mary Ann Babb  (1768 - 1863) m. Amos Derrough(Darrow) 5. Henry Mercer Babb (1770-1820) m. Grace McCool6. Tamson Babb b 11 Sept 1772 in Frederick Co., VA, m. 8 Sept 1790 Jonathan Mercer in Frederick Co., VA, and she died before 1805? in Greene Co., OH; Tamson is wife#2 of Jonathan Mercer--wife#1 was Hester David. Tamson and Jonathan's children are Mary "Polly" Mercer, Henry Babb Mercer, Robert Mercer, Moses Mercer and Aaron Mercer 7. Jane Babb, b 30 March 1775 d 30 Dec 1847, at 72 yrs. 9 mos., unmarried and is buried near mother Blanch in OH. 8. Ruth Babb b ca 1776 named in will - probably died young 9. James Babb b ca 1778 Child of __?__ McMullen and Blanch (Mercer) Babb: 1. Charlotte McMullen (recorded as Charlotte Babb in [Frederick Co. VA Order Book 22]) was b. 1782, m. 26 April 1798 George Green by James Walls, Minister, [Frederick Co., VA Bk. 15, pg. 46]. Blanch accompanied the Greens removed to Clinton Co., OH in October 1810, according to an affidavit made by Henry Mercer Green. In her father's will, Blanch was called Blanch McMullen, late Blanch Babb, widow of Thomas Babb, deceased [Jefferson Co., VA (now WV) Book 9, pg. 101 & Deed Book 1, pg. 502 - 2 Aug 1803]. --------------------------------------------------- According to "Haddox-Skelton Heritage" by Ruth Haddox Harrington, 2005, pg. 231: Blanch's husband, Thomas Babb, is a sibling to: - Jane Babb b. ca 1742, m. bef., 1762 __?__ Reeves - Mercer Babb (1744-1791) m. Rhoda Petty - Margaret Babb (ca 1750-1815) m. James Wadlington --------------------------------------------------- According to "Haddox-Skelton Heritage" by Ruth Haddox Harrington, 2005, pg. 413: In 1803 Blanch McMullen, late Blanch Babb, widow of Thomas Babb, deceased, signed over her share of her late father, Edward Mercer's estate after both her brothers, Nicholas and Edward, Jr. had died without issue. Thus, Charlotte McMullen [Blanch's dau. by 2nd marriage to __?__ McMullen] went by the name Babb after her father's death. Excerpt from "Revolutionary War Veterans of Greene County Ohio", published by Greene County Chapter, Ohio Genealogical Society, 1995, pg.10: BACKGROUND: Born 14 Jun 1742 in Virginia, daughter of Edward and Mary Mercer of Berkeley County, Virginia SERVICE: Supplied 400 pounds of mutton to soldiers HUSBAND: Married Thomas Babb on 17 Mar 1762. He was born 14 Jun 1740 in PA and died before November 1779 in Frederick County, Virginia. He was reared in PA, whence he removed to Virginia and occupied himself as a carpenter and farmer. He supplied pasturage for 44 horses for 15 days during the Revolutionary War. CHILDREN: -John, b.abt. 1763 -Philip, b.13 Jan 1764, d. in Revolutionary War -Thomas Jr.  b.22 Jan 1766; m.
