Obituary:
Spent her whole life in south Pike.  Member of the Christain Church of Nebo. Last illness was only a week 's duration, her frail form being unable to successfully withstand the attack of pnuemonia.
She left three daughters, eight grandchildren, three half-brothers, and one half sister, a step brother and step sister besides many other relatives and friends.

EDWARD B. VENABLE,deceased, was born in Pike county, Mo., in 1827, and was the son of John and Rachel Venable, natives of South Carolina; when he was 16 years of age his parents moved with him to this county; in 1848 he married Eliza Gresham, who was born in 1828 in Christian county, Ky.; and of their 8 children only Louisa is living.  Mr. Venable followed farming the most of his life; was in other occupations some.  He died Dec. 19, 1879, a member of the Masonic order.  During life he was a Constable and Justice of the Peace, two terms each.  Mrs. V. has a very nice residence in Pleasant Hill, and she and her daughter are members of the Baptist Church.

Jan. 12, 1994.  Received a letter from Clara M. Foster.  Robert A. Venable came to Oregon in 1853 in a wagon train.  The same train that sister Sarah and husband Joseph were on.  He married Joseph (husband of Sarah E. Venable) Hubbard's daughter from a previous marriage on the trip.  They had 4 or 5 children.  Robert is buried near Silverton, Marion County Oregon, near his sister Sarah.

The 1880 census reports her to be 38 , so DOB could be in 1842.
The Oregon History book, "..two sister's (of Francis Marion Venable) Martha, wife of Preston Holman, of Illinois and Nancy, wife of Joshua Zumwalt, also of Illinois."
