Immigration from Ireland 1864. (US Census 1900)
Anastasia Murphey married Tom Powrs and that he was also born in Kilkenny,
Waterford , Ireland, and they they lived and are buried in Minnesota.  These
are the great grand parents of Dennis Logue.

Note from Veronica Larkin:  Richard had a disagreement with his father and
left, never heard from again.


Anastasia POWERS

Note from Dennis Logue:  Aunt Anastasia was living in Seattle during the time
of the Worlds Fair in 1962 when Dennis went to visit his brother Lewis Logue.
Lewis and Dennis made a visit to her apartment, where she was still living
alone.  Her daughter had married an Overvold, who lived in the vicinity. (1/95)

James MURPHY

Larkin from one of the descendents of one of the Murphy children.
James Murphy Sr. and his wife Mary Hearn grew up in Waterford, Kilkenny, (the
stream between) Ireland.
On 29 Apr 1867, James Murphy Sr.( who was about 55 years old) his wife Mary, and
five of their eight children arrived in New york.
The children who accompanied them on this trip were Lawrence, Thomas, James
Jr., Richard, and Catherine. Three other children (Bridget, Anne, and Mary) had
come to the United States in earlier years.
The family, who were nicknamed the Kilkenny Hellcats,lived for a short time in
the Philadelphia area area and then relcoated west to the area around West
Liberty Iowa.
At the time of the 1870 census, James Sr. and Mary were living in Cedar Co.
Iowa near Tipton. The children living with them included Thomas (24); James
Jr.(20); Richard (18); and Catherine (16).
The family subsequently moved to
the Armah area (around Kinross, IA.) to join Lawrence.  The parents, along with
five of the children, settled there and most are buried in the Armah Cemetary.

While living in the Armah area, Lawrence married a Hughes girl.
Catherine (Kate) married married Thomas O'Rourke and they had no children.
Richard (Dick) married Kate Cudahey and they had 12 children.
James Jr. married Elizabeth Brady and they had two children before she died
during childbirth.  James Jr. married Bridget O'Rourke and they had 10 children.
Bridget married Pete Moore (a storekeeper) in philadelphia where
she and her baby are buried.
Mary married James McVey from West Liberty IA. and had a son named James.
They are all buried in West Liberty.
Annestasia (Anne) married Tom Powers. This couple are ggparents of Veronica
Larkin and Dennis Sherwood Logue.


Thomas MURPHY

Immegration from Ireland 1862?
Note compiled by Veronica Larkin from a member of the Murphy family that
Thomas Murphey was also born in Kilkenny, Waterford, Ireland, that he never
married and is buried in the Armaugh cemetary (3 miles from What Cheer, Keokuk
Co. Iowa) next to his brother Lawrence.

This birthdate has to be of sister Elizabeth,  Mary Jane b. abt 1834.  (Larry Anderson)
