I Believe this is the line of Kathy Wells that I had spoken with many times but she had not gotten her lineages to me to fill in and finish, so missing her. I just heard this morning that Kathy passed away a few days ago, was only about same age as myself, she was 63. Larry Anderson 21 Feb 2011

Dear Family & Friends,
To those who I've not personally met in the past I am Shawn Wells, the son of Kathryn Wells. I pulled your contact information from my mothers Email address book as it appears you have corresponded frequently in the past.
This past Sunday afternoon (30-JAN-2011) my mother felt something was off. An immediate Emergency Room visit followed and she was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit of our regional hospital in Annapolis, MD. Thursday morning (3-FEB-2011) she started to decline further and the decision was made to admit her to Hospice Care. With myself by her side and the monitoring of Hospice we had a very quiet and peaceful night but this morning, Friday 4-FEB-2011, at approximately 8am, my mother passed due to respiratory failure.
As many of you are aware my mother has been living with various ailments for some time now, especially chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and heart failure. For many years she has had limited mobility and been unable to leave home. Often such limitations makes one feel isolated from the rest of the world, cut off from both family & friends, and not being able to contribute meaningfully to society. Her friendships with this group allowed her to retain a sense of place, meaning, and human connections through such activities as contributing to genealogy research (both of family members and through volunteering for strangers), participating in the latest family gossip from Iowa, and sharing simple daily “A smile for in the morning” emails. These connections – your connections – are what kept her inspired and living a meaningful life. I forever am indebted to you all for blessing her with your love and friendships.
In accordance with my mothers wishes she went to organ donation and then cremated. Fortunately local family was able to say their goodbyes in person, as such there will not be a service. In the coming weeks I will be collecting, attempting to organize, and scanning various photos and documents she had. I'll be posting these online and would love the assistance of family & friends to identify the individuals and stories behind them. I'm sure there are many hidden gems that tell stories which have been tucked away for some time. My mothers genealogy records are part of her legacy, and I believe it would bring her happiness to see others build upon her work. In regards to a “living legacy” I was notified that someone was given the gift of sight through my mothers organ donation.... as her earthly story ends I find comfort in knowing that light is starting to shine through to another.
Again, thank you all for your friendship and love to my mother. I've attached a picture from this past Christmas for those who do not have a recent one. To ensure everyone has my contact information I can be reached at the phone/email below. Please feel free to reach out about anything, anytime. Also, I realize I may have left out friends and family I did not have contact information for. Please feel free to forward to anyone I may have missed!
